About The Position
The Delivery Driver is an hourly store team member role. The team member operates equipment; stocks ingredients from the delivery area into storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler; prepares products; receives and processes telephone orders; takes inventory and completes related paperwork; and cleans equipment and the facility approximately daily. Orientation and on-the-job training are provided. The role requires communicating with customers and coworkers in person and by telephone, following written instructions, processing orders, making accurate monetary change, and using a computer keyboard or touch screen. Work takes place in a store environment with exposure to changing temperatures and weather, food odors, dust, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Most work is performed standing, with short-distance walking and some paperwork completed while seated. Team members unload bulk deliveries using a hand truck and may lift and carry cases weighing up to 50 pounds, stack items on shelves up to 72 inches high, move trays on dollies, and occasionally use stairs or a ladder.
Requirements
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
- Ability to communicate verbally with customers and coworkers to process orders by telephone and in person.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly; a calculator may be used.
- Ability to make correct monetary change.
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands or fingers to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
- Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality-control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
- Ability to lift delivery cases weighing up to 50 pounds and stack them on shelves up to 72 inches high.
- Ability to carry items including pizza sauce weighing 30 pounds and pizza dough trays weighing approximately 12 pounds each.
- Ability to push or pull tray stacks on a dolly, climb stairs or a ladder infrequently, and perform work primarily while standing.
