About The Position

Ryder is hiring a non-CDL heavy-touch truck driver in Tualatin, Oregon. The driver delivers medical supplies on a home-daily route using a 26-foot straight truck without air brakes. Freight handling is heavy-touch and may require loading and unloading. The position pays weekly at $29.00 per hour, with approximately 50 hours per week and a Monday–Friday schedule starting between 4:00 and 7:00 a.m. Customer/patient experience is required. Ryder provides uniforms and a boot allowance, maintains its trucks, and offers 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at more than 800 locations.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical and a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have verifiable Class A or Class B experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
• Have customer/patient experience.
• Be able to handle heavy-touch freight.

Nice To Haves

• A TWIC card is preferred; Ryder will reimburse for it.

Responsibilities

• Comply with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading when required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
