About The Position

The Delivery Specialist delivers purchased merchandise to customers within the assigned market while meeting delivery and quality standards. The role provides a positive customer experience by building trusted relationships, offering advice, ensuring safe delivery, resolving problems, and handling product returns as needed.

The position involves operating and maintaining a clean, organized delivery vehicle and equipment, sometimes including a trailer; loading, unloading, and organizing products; conducting vehicle inspections; keeping delivery records; and communicating with customers and store or field sales personnel. The driver follows traffic laws and company policies, handles merchandise carefully, and may assist with returns, exchanges, and customer inquiries. Work includes driving assigned markets in all weather and road conditions and working near mechanical equipment.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have at least 3 years of driving experience and meet MVR check requirements.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is listed among preferred qualifications.
• Must be able to push and pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with proper material-handling equipment.
• Must be able to lift and move large, bulky, and/or heavy merchandise and safely load and unload a delivery truck.
• Ability to use Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Calendar.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Strong customer service skills and a professional, friendly attitude.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for communicating with team members and customers.
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately to complete documentation.
• Ability to navigate using GPS systems and maps.
• Ability to successfully complete required training.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• DOT Medical Card as required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous truck delivery experience is a plus but not required.
• Experience with a hand truck, dolly, pallet jack, and forklift is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to operate job-related equipment efficiently, safely, properly, and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Make timely deliveries that meet or exceed scheduled delivery times.
• Operate and maintain a clean, organized delivery vehicle and delivery equipment, including a trailer when needed.
• Load, unload, and organize products safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries and related issues.
• Communicate with customers during delivery to provide updates and address concerns.
• Provide exceptional, friendly customer service.
• Partner with field sales team members and store personnel to meet customer needs.
• Handle products carefully to prevent damage and ensure safe transport.
• Follow traffic laws and company policies for safe driving.
• Handle returns, exchanges, and customer inquiries as needed.
