About The Position

The Delivery Specialist delivers purchased merchandise to customers within an assigned market while meeting delivery and quality standards. The role provides a positive customer experience by building trusted relationships, offering advice, ensuring safe product delivery, resolving problems, and handling returns as needed.

The position involves operating and maintaining a clean, organized delivery vehicle and related equipment, including a trailer at times. The Delivery Specialist loads, unloads, and organizes products; inspects the vehicle before and after trips; records deliveries and related issues; communicates with customers; and works with field sales and store personnel to meet customer needs. Deliveries take place across assigned markets in all weather and road conditions, with flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have at least 3 years of driving experience and meet MVR check requirements.
• Must hold a DOT Medical Card when required.
• Must be able to push and pull merchandise weighing up to 2,000 pounds with proper material-handling equipment.
• Must be able to lift and move large, bulky, and/or heavy merchandise and safely load and unload a delivery truck.
• Must be able to use Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Calendar.
• Must have strong time-management skills and meet tight deadlines.
• Must have strong customer-service skills and a professional, friendly attitude.
• Must communicate effectively in writing and verbally with team members and customers.
• Must read, write, and count accurately to complete documentation.
• Must be able to navigate using GPS systems and maps.
• Must successfully complete required training.
• Must be flexible to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous truck delivery experience is a plus but is not required.
• Experience with a hand truck, dolly, pallet jack, and forklift is preferred.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to operate job-related equipment efficiently, safely, properly, and accurately while providing a high level of customer service.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers about delivery updates and concerns.

• Partner with field sales team members and store personnel to meet customer needs.
• Handle products carefully to prevent damage and ensure safe transport.
• Follow traffic laws and company policies for safe driving.
• Handle returns, exchanges, and customer inquiries as needed.
