About The Position
The Delivery Driver delivers products by car to customers within a designated delivery area, including carrying orders from the vehicle to the customer's door. Drivers may make several deliveries per shift and also deliver flyers and door hangers. The role includes general store-team duties such as operating equipment, stocking ingredients and supplies, preparing products, receiving and processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The position involves frequent standing, reaching, hand use, and movement between the store, vehicle, and customer locations. It may require lifting supplies weighing up to 50 pounds, carrying products, pushing or pulling trays on dollies, and navigating stairs or other challenging terrain. Work takes place in varying indoor temperatures and weather conditions, with potential exposure to food odors, cornmeal dust, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
- Have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
- Possess navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
- Be able to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings.
- Be able to comprehend and give correct written instructions and communicate verbally with customers and co-workers.
- Be able to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly and make correct monetary change.
- Have verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Have the motor coordination and eye-hand coordination needed to make precise movements and use equipment.
- Be able to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Be able to perform the physical tasks described, including standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, and climbing.
Responsibilities
