About The Position

The Delivery Driver delivers products by car to customers’ doors and may distribute flyers, door hangers, or other marketing materials. The role also includes in-store duties such as operating equipment, stocking ingredients and supplies, preparing products, receiving and processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The position involves customer and coworker communication, order entry, handling payments, and working both independently and with others. Work includes frequent standing, walking, reaching, and hand use; delivery duties may involve carrying orders and navigating stairs, adverse terrain, and changing weather conditions. In-store conditions include temperature changes, cramped areas, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
Ability to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
Ability to navigate adverse terrain, including multistory buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites, while carrying products.
Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions and communicate verbally with customers and coworkers in person and by telephone.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly, including making correct monetary change.
Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Ability to meet physical demands that include standing for most tasks, frequent reaching and hand use, carrying products, and occasionally lifting deliveries weighing up to 60 pounds.
Ability to work alone and with others, perform repetitive tasks, work under stress, meet quality-control standards, deal with people, and make judgments and decisions.
Ability to distinguish hot and cold surfaces and perform tasks requiring near-, mid-range, far-, and night vision.

Responsibilities

Deliver company products by car within a designated delivery area and bring them to customers’ doors.
Deliver flyers, door hangers, or other marketing materials.
Operate equipment and stock ingredients from delivery storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
Prepare products.
Receive and process telephone orders, including entering orders using a keyboard or touch screen.
Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
Unload deliveries using a hand truck and stock ingredients and supplies on shelves.
Handle payments and make correct monetary change.
Navigate delivery routes, addresses, and customer locations, including stairs and other terrain.
