About The Position
The Delivery Driver operates store equipment; stocks ingredients from the delivery area into storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler; prepares products; receives and processes telephone orders; takes inventory and completes related paperwork; and cleans equipment and the facility approximately daily. The role also delivers products by car to customers’ doors and distributes flyers and door hangers. The position requires accurate and quick basic arithmetic, including making correct monetary change; verbal, writing, and telephone skills for taking and processing orders; and coordination to make rapid, precise movements. The driver must be able to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen, understand and give written instructions, and communicate with customers and coworkers in person and over the phone. Navigational skills are needed to read maps and locate addresses within the delivery area. The driver must navigate varied terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites, while carrying products.
Requirements
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly; a calculator may be used.
- Ability to make correct monetary change.
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
- Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
- Ability to communicate verbally with customers and coworkers in person and over the phone.
- Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
- Ability to navigate varied terrain while carrying products.
