About The Position

The Delivery Driver delivers products by car to customers’ doors within a designated delivery area and may make several deliveries per shift. The role also includes delivering flyers and door hangers. Drivers need to navigate to addresses using maps and handle delivery routes that may involve adverse terrain, private homes, multi-story buildings, and five or more flights of stairs.

As a store team member, the driver may also operate equipment; stock ingredients and supplies; prepare products; receive and process telephone orders; take inventory and complete paperwork; and clean equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided.

The job involves standing and walking for much of the work, lifting and carrying supplies weighing up to 50 pounds, pushing or pulling trays on dollies, and frequent reaching, bending, and hand use. Work may involve changing temperatures, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, moving mechanical parts, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, and varying or adverse weather conditions.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
• Have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
• Possess navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
• Be able to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings and delivery sites, while carrying products.
• Be able to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
• Be able to communicate verbally with customers and coworkers to process orders by phone and in person.
• Be able to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly, make correct monetary change, and use a calculator if needed.
• Have verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Have motor coordination to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
• Be able to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Be able to meet the physical demands described, including lifting deliveries weighing up to 50 pounds and carrying products during deliveries.
• Be able to work alone and with others, perform repetitive tasks, work under stress, meet quality-control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
