About The Position

The Pioneer has an immediate opening at its production facility in Big Rapids for a part-time Delivery Driver. The position is responsible for safely loading and unloading newspaper freight and delivering bundles to various locations. The driver operates company trucks, prepares printed products for shipping, maintains required vehicle and cargo records, and represents the company professionally. The schedule involves early morning hours, up to 24 hours per week.

Requirements

• Maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Have a chauffeur’s license or the ability to obtain one.
• Abide by Michigan traffic laws.
• Be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
• Be able to pass a pre-employment physical.
• Be able to work early morning hours, up to 24 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate all company trucks.
• Ensure vehicles are properly maintained and fluid levels are correct before operating.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Abide by Michigan traffic laws.
• Deliver freight to proper destinations on time.
• Safely and efficiently load and unload cargo.
• Properly prepare printed products for shipping.
• Maintain records, such as vehicle logs, cargo records, or billing statements, in accordance with regulations.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company in a positive way.
