About The Position

The Delivery Driver drives a company vehicle on an established route or territory and helps load, unload, and deliver goods to customer locations. The position is onsite inside a jail or correctional facility and reports to a Food Service Director. The driver also assists with food preparation, serving, kitchen maintenance, cleaning, and sanitizing. Physical demands include lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods, including being on their feet for much of the scheduled shift when not driving.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 18 years of age.
One year of experience delivering products or inventory.
Valid state driver's license for assigned vehicles.
Knowledge of safe driving procedures and traffic rules.
Ability to lift, bend, push, kneel, walk, and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Learn the delivery area.
Check orders for quality and accuracy.
Follow proper delivery procedures.
Help with food preparation, serving, kitchen maintenance, cleaning, and sanitizing.
Load and unload products and deliver orders promptly.
Report vehicle maintenance or repairs needed to the manager.
Maintain and keep the vehicle clean.
Transport and set up food and food service items.
Carry out other responsibilities as determined by the organization's needs.
