About The Position

The Delivery Driver role includes general hourly store team member duties. The team member operates equipment; stocks ingredients and supplies from the delivery area to storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler; prepares products; receives and processes telephone orders; takes inventory and completes related paperwork; and cleans equipment and the facility approximately daily. Orientation and training are provided on the job.

The work involves standing for most tasks, short-distance walking, and completing paperwork while seated. Bulk deliveries are unloaded with a hand truck and may include cases weighing up to 50 pounds, lifted from the floor and stacked on shelves up to 72 inches high. Other tasks involve carrying food supplies and dough trays, pushing or pulling loaded tray dollies, and occasionally using stairs or a ladder. The role may expose the team member to adverse weather, changing temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.

Requirements

• Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
• Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders over the phone and in person.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, with a calculator if needed.
• Ability to make correct monetary change.
• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Motor coordination between eyes and hands or fingers to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
• Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality-control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
• Ability to handle physical tasks including lifting cases weighing up to 50 pounds and stacking them on shelves up to 72 inches high.
