About The Position

The Delivery Specialist delivers purchased merchandise to customers within the assigned market while meeting delivery and quality standards. The role provides a positive customer experience by building trusted relationships, offering advice, ensuring products are delivered safely, resolving problems, and handling returns as needed. The position involves operating and maintaining a delivery vehicle and related equipment, including a trailer at times, and coordinating with store personnel and the field sales team.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have at least 3 years of driving experience and meet motor vehicle record check requirements.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must possess the physical and mental stamina to move quickly and safely throughout store and outdoor areas.
• Ability to push and pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with appropriate material-handling equipment.
• Ability to operate job-related equipment safely, properly, efficiently, and accurately.
• Ability to lift and move large, bulky, and/or heavy merchandise and safely load and unload a delivery truck.
• Ability to use Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Calendar.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Strong customer-service skills and a professional, friendly attitude.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for communicating with team members and customers.
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately to complete documentation.
• Ability to navigate using GPS systems and maps.
• Ability to successfully complete required training.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
• DOT Medical Card as required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous truck delivery experience is a plus but is not required.
• Experience with a hand truck, dolly, pallet jack, and forklift is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Make timely deliveries that meet or exceed scheduled delivery times.
• Operate and maintain a clean, organized delivery vehicle and delivery equipment, including a trailer at times.
• Load, unload, and organize products safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and document issues.
• Communicate with customers about delivery updates and concerns.
• Provide friendly, exceptional customer service.
• Partner with the field sales team and store personnel to meet customer needs.
• Handle products carefully to prevent damage and ensure safe transport.
• Follow traffic laws and company policies for safe driving.
• Handle returns, exchanges, and customer inquiries as needed.
