About The Position

The Delivery Specialist delivers purchased merchandise to customers within an assigned market while meeting delivery and quality standards. The role provides a positive customer experience by building trusted relationships, offering product advice, ensuring safe delivery, resolving problems, and handling returns as needed. The position involves operating and maintaining a delivery vehicle and related equipment, safely handling merchandise, communicating with customers and store personnel, and driving in varying weather and road conditions.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have at least 3 years of driving experience and meet MVR check requirements.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must have a DOT Medical Card as required.
• Ability to safely load and unload a delivery truck.
• Ability to lift and move large, bulky, and/or heavy merchandise.
• Ability to push and pull merchandise weighing up to 2,000 pounds with appropriate material-handling equipment.
• Ability to use Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Calendar.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Strong customer-service skills and a professional, friendly attitude.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for communicating with team members and customers.
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately to complete documentation.
• Ability to navigate using GPS systems and maps.
• Ability to successfully complete required training.

Nice To Haves

• Previous truck delivery experience.
• Experience using a hand truck, dolly, pallet jack, and forklift.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Make timely deliveries and meet or exceed scheduled delivery times.
• Operate and maintain a clean, organized delivery vehicle and delivery equipment, including a trailer when needed.
• Load, unload, and organize products safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Keep accurate delivery records and document any issues.
• Communicate with customers about delivery updates or concerns.
• Provide exceptional, friendly customer service.
• Partner with the field sales team and store personnel to meet customer needs.
• Handle products carefully to prevent damage and ensure safe transport.
• Follow traffic laws and company policies for safe driving.
• Handle returns, exchanges, and customer inquiries as needed.
