About The Position

The Delivery Specialist delivers purchased merchandise to customers within the assigned market while meeting delivery and quality standards. The role provides a positive customer experience by building trusted relationships, offering advice, ensuring safe delivery, resolving problems, and handling product returns as needed.

The position involves preparing and operating a delivery vehicle and related equipment, loading and unloading merchandise, inspecting the vehicle, maintaining delivery records, communicating with customers, and working with store personnel and the field sales team. Deliveries take place in all weather and road conditions.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years old.
• Have at least 3 years of driving experience and meet motor vehicle record check requirements.
• Have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Have the physical and mental stamina to move throughout the store and outdoor areas safely.
• Be able to push and pull merchandise weighing up to 2,000 pounds with appropriate material-handling equipment.
• Be able to operate job-related equipment efficiently, safely, properly, and accurately.
• Be able to lift and move large, bulky, and/or heavy merchandise and safely load and unload a delivery truck.
• Be able to use Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Calendar.
• Have time-management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Have strong customer-service skills and a professional, friendly attitude.
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills for communicating with team members and customers.
• Be able to read, write, and count accurately to complete documentation.
• Be able to navigate using GPS systems and maps.
• Successfully complete all required training.
• Be flexible to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
• Obtain a DOT Medical Card when required.

Nice To Haves

• Previous truck delivery experience.
• Experience using a hand truck, dolly, pallet jack, or forklift.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Make timely deliveries that meet or exceed scheduled delivery times.
• Operate and maintain a clean, organized delivery vehicle and delivery equipment, including a trailer when needed.
• Load, unload, and organize products safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and document issues.
• Communicate with customers about delivery updates and concerns.
• Provide friendly, high-quality customer service.
• Partner with the field sales team and store personnel to meet customer needs.
• Handle products carefully to prevent damage and ensure safe transport.
• Follow traffic laws and company policies for safe driving.
• Handle returns, exchanges, and customer inquiries as needed.
