About The Position

The Delivery Driver safely delivers products or flyers within a designated delivery area, providing timely service and exceptional customer service. Drivers may use their own insured, registered vehicle in proper working condition or, where available, a company vehicle. When deliveries are slow, drivers help with in-store tasks, including taking and processing orders, preparing products, stocking ingredients, and cleaning equipment and the facility. The role involves paid training and opportunities for advancement, including progression into management and other roles. The schedule is described as flexible, with hours suited to different availability needs. The position requires working in a food-service environment and driving to customer locations. Duties may involve navigating stairs and other terrain while carrying products, working around hot surfaces and equipment, and performing physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, and occasionally climbing. Work conditions may include varying weather, temperature changes, food odors, cornmeal dust, confined cooler spaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have a valid driver's license in good standing.
Must have three or fewer moving violations in the last three years.
Must not have had any drug- or alcohol-related motor vehicle violations in the last five years.
Must have reliable transportation; delivery using a personal vehicle requires access to an insured, registered vehicle in proper working condition.
Must have navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the delivery area.
Must have a safe driving record meeting company standards.
Must have exceptional customer service skills.
Must be able to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly, make correct monetary change, and communicate verbally, in writing, and by telephone.
Must be able to use a computer keyboard or touch screen and operate store equipment.
Must be able to meet the described physical and sensory demands, including standing, walking, sitting, lifting and carrying supplies, navigating stairs, and using hands continuously.

Responsibilities

Deliver products or flyers safely, securely, and on time within the designated delivery area.
Navigate to delivery addresses, including through adverse terrain, multi-story buildings, and private homes.
Provide exceptional customer service.
Help with in-store tasks when not busy making deliveries.
Take and process orders by telephone and communicate verbally and in writing with customers.
Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Operate store equipment and prepare products.
Stock ingredients and supplies from delivery areas to storage and work areas, including the walk-in cooler.
Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
Complete paid training, including videos, coaching guides, quizzes, and on-the-job training.
