About The Position

DME Express is hiring a Delivery Driver/Medical Equipment Technician to deliver and pick up medical equipment, including wheelchairs, hospital beds, and oxygen, for hospice patients. The company provides training, and prior experience is not required. Pay varies based on experience.

The role includes determining or obtaining the best daily route; assembling and delivering equipment; and educating patients and families on proper equipment use. The driver/technician also supports equipment and vehicle maintenance, warehouse and office upkeep, accurate delivery and pickup documentation, patient and client service, and teamwork. The position participates in a predetermined rotating on-call schedule during the week and weekends and may require Saturday or Sunday work on a rotating schedule.

Personal protective equipment is provided and required. Temperature screenings, social distancing guidelines, and sanitizing and disinfecting procedures are in place.

Requirements

• Positive attitude at all times.
• Clean driving record.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds daily.
• No prior experience is required; training is provided to the right candidates.
• Availability for a predetermined rotating on-call schedule in a 24/7 operation.

Responsibilities

• Determine or obtain the best daily route, assemble and deliver equipment, and educate patients and families on proper use.
• Enforce applicable DOT and FDA regulations for oxygen and durable medical equipment at the service center.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels and high cleanliness standards in the warehouse and delivery vehicle.
• Ensure Medical Equipment Technicians adhere to company and accreditation standards.
• Provide patient/client orientation and instructions on equipment use when applicable.
• Help patients and clients resolve problems while representing the company in the field.
• Complete delivery and pickup processes promptly and accurately through an app.
• Assist with cleaning, disinfecting, and minor repairs of equipment.
• Perform required daily preventive maintenance on the assigned vehicle.
• Maintain a neat, clean personal appearance.
• Promote teamwork, including assisting fellow drivers as needed.
• Participate in a predetermined rotating on-call schedule during the week and weekends; Saturday or Sunday work may also be required on a rotating schedule.
• Perform warehouse and office maintenance tasks as required.
• Demonstrate timeliness, courtesy, sincerity, and patience when working with clients.
• Represent and promote the company positively and professionally.
• Accept other duties and activities as assigned.
