About The Position
DME Express is a growing medical supply company that delivers and picks up medical equipment, including wheelchairs, hospital beds, and oxygen, for hospice patients. The Delivery Driver/Medical Equipment Technician determines or obtains the best daily route, assembles and delivers equipment, and educates patients and families about proper use. The company provides training to candidates with no prior experience. Average pay varies based on experience.
Requirements
- Maintain a positive attitude.
- Have a clean driving record.
- Be able to lift 75 pounds daily.
- Accept other duties and activities as assigned.
- Be available for a predetermined rotating on-call schedule in a 24/7 operation.
Responsibilities
- Determine or obtain the best daily route; assemble and deliver needed equipment and educate patients and families on its proper use.
- Enforce applicable DOT and FDA regulations for oxygen and durable medical equipment at the responsible service center.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels and high cleanliness standards in the warehouse and delivery vehicle.
- Ensure Medical Equipment Technicians follow company and accreditation standards.
- Provide patient/client orientation and instructions on equipment use when applicable.
- Work with patients and clients to solve problems as a company field representative.
- Complete delivery and pickup processes through an app promptly and accurately.
- Assist with cleaning, disinfecting, and minor repairs of equipment.
- Perform required daily preventive maintenance on the assigned vehicle.
- Maintain a neat, clean personal appearance.
- Promote teamwork, including assisting fellow drivers as needed.
- Work Saturdays or Sundays on a predetermined rotating schedule when required.
- Take on-call time on a predetermined rotating basis during the week and weekends.
- Perform warehouse and office maintenance tasks as required.
- Demonstrate timeliness, courtesy, sincerity, and patience when working with clients.
- Represent and market the company positively and professionally.
