About The Position

DME Express is a medical supply company serving the hospice field. The Delivery Driver/Medical Equipment Technician delivers and picks up medical equipment, including wheelchairs, hospital beds, and oxygen, for hospice patients. The company provides training, and no prior experience is required. The role includes educating patients and families on equipment use, maintaining equipment and vehicles, and supporting warehouse and office operations. The position participates in a predetermined rotating on-call schedule and may require weekend work.

Requirements

• Maintain a positive attitude.
• Have a clean driving record.
• Be able to lift 75 pounds daily.
• Be available for a predetermined rotating on-call schedule in a 24/7 operation.
• Accept other duties and activities as assigned.
• No prior experience is required; training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Determine or obtain the best daily route; assemble and deliver equipment and educate patients and families on its proper use.
• Enforce applicable DOT and FDA regulations for oxygen and durable medical equipment at the assigned service center.
• Maintain appropriate stock levels and high cleanliness standards in the warehouse and delivery vehicle.
• Ensure Medical Equipment Technicians adhere to company and accreditation standards.
• Orient patients and clients and instruct them on proper equipment use when applicable.
• Help patients and clients solve problems while representing the company in the field.
• Complete delivery and pickup processes promptly and accurately through an app.
• Assist with cleaning, disinfecting, and minor repairs of equipment.
• Perform required daily preventive maintenance on the assigned vehicle.
• Maintain a neat, clean personal appearance.
• Promote teamwork and assist fellow drivers as needed.
• Work weekends when required under a predetermined rotating schedule.
• Participate in a predetermined rotating on-call schedule during the week and on weekends.
• Perform warehouse and office maintenance tasks as required.
• Demonstrate timeliness, courtesy, sincerity, and patience when working with clients.
• Represent and market the company positively and professionally.
