About The Position

DME Express is hiring a Delivery Driver/Medical Equipment Technician to deliver and pick up medical equipment, including wheelchairs, hospital beds, and oxygen, for hospice patients. The company provides training, and no prior experience is required. Pay varies based on experience. The role includes educating patients and families on equipment use, maintaining equipment and vehicles, and supporting warehouse operations. Drivers may be scheduled for rotating weekend work and on-call coverage. A vehicle and cell phone are provided for work use, and the vehicle may be taken home. The position offers medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k), PTO, a competitive salary based on experience, and a $500 sign-on bonus paid in two installments: $250 with the first check and $250 after 90 days.

Requirements

Positive attitude at all times.
Clean driving record.
Ability to lift 75 pounds daily.
Ability to participate in a predetermined rotating on-call schedule in a 24/7 operation.
No prior experience is required; the company will train suitable candidates.

Responsibilities

Determine or obtain the best daily route; assemble and deliver required equipment; and educate patients and families on proper equipment use.
Enforce applicable DOT and FDA regulations for oxygen and durable medical equipment at the service center.
Maintain appropriate stock levels and high standards of cleanliness in the warehouse and delivery vehicle.
Ensure Medical Equipment Technicians adhere to company and accreditation standards.
Provide patient or client orientation and instructions on equipment use when applicable.
Work with patients and clients to resolve problems while representing the company in the field.
Complete delivery and pickup processes promptly and accurately through an app.
Assist with cleaning, disinfecting, and minor repairs of equipment.
Perform required daily preventive maintenance on the assigned vehicle.
Maintain a neat, clean personal appearance.
Promote teamwork and assist fellow drivers as needed.
Work on a predetermined rotating schedule that may include Saturdays and Sundays.
Take on-call time on a predetermined rotating basis during the week and on weekends.
Perform warehouse and office maintenance tasks as required.
Demonstrate timeliness, courtesy, sincerity, and patience when working with clients.
Represent and market the company positively and professionally.
Accept other duties and activities as assigned.
