About The Position

National DCP, LLC (NDCP) is hiring a Delivery Assistant in Portland, Maine. The Delivery Assistant supports the driver in unloading and delivering products to Dunkin’ stores. Products include freezer, cooler, dry, and chemical items. The role involves using electric and manual pallet jacks and a two-wheel hand truck, placing stock in the proper store delivery zones, and assisting the driver while navigating delivery areas. The posted schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday. The position pays $22.65 per hour. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Understand and communicate in English sufficiently to safely perform essential job functions, including understanding work and safety instructions and communicating with supervisors, coworkers, and customers about operational and safety matters.
• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds.
• Ability to follow simple directions.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with employees and external customers.
• Strong team player.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driver with unloading and delivering products into Dunkin’ stores using an electric pallet jack, manual pallet jack, and/or two-wheel hand truck.
• Identify products on the delivery truck under varying lighting conditions.
• Learn product descriptions and box types to help ensure products are delivered properly at each location.
• Place stock in the appropriate store delivery zones: freezer, cooler, and dry areas.
• Lift boxes and bags of varying sizes and weights frequently throughout the day.
• Divert traffic to promote safety while the driver backs into store parking lots and delivery areas.
• Guide the driver through parking lots.
• Navigate busy parking lots and intersections while moving products with a two-wheel hand truck or an electric or manual pallet jack.
• Climb in and out of the tractor and trailers repeatedly throughout the day.
• Safely operate the side and rear lift gates on delivery vehicles.
• Assist the driver with other requests within safety guidelines and company policy.
