About The Position

The Deli Support role is an essential position in Buehler’s Deli Department and contributes to the department’s profitability. The role works closely with the manager and co-workers to provide customers with an exceptional experience in the store or restaurant, and may also support Food Service Operations. The position supports deli preparation, production, sales, and related food-service areas. A signing bonus of $500 is available after the successful candidate completes six months in the hired role.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old.
Provide friendly, courteous, prompt customer service and work effectively in a team environment.
Work with minimal supervision and remain productive and composed during busy periods.
Understand basic weights and measurements and perform simple math.
Be dependable, reliable, and flexible to accommodate customer demand and staffing needs, including some weekends.
Be able to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, and pull items weighing 50 pounds and occasionally 80 pounds.
Have manual dexterity and auditory and visual skills, and be able to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
Be able to work on your feet for extended periods.
Work in a deli/kitchen environment with frequent exposure to heat, steam, fire, and noise.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with deli operations; not required, as training is available.

Responsibilities

Greet customers, answer questions, and provide exceptional customer service.
Maintain freshness and sanitation standards.
Provide product information and samples to help customers make product-related decisions.
Fill, maintain, and rotate products and displays.
Support Restaurant, Catering, and Specialty areas with special orders and party trays.
Operate the deli slicer and other commercial food-service equipment.
Support deli functions, including preparation and production, the Deli Counter, Food Service Prep, Deli Sandwich, and Soup and Salad Bar.
