About The Position

The Deli Specialist provides deli department excellence by ensuring product freshness, merchandising accuracy, and compliance with food safety standards. The role supports deli inventory accuracy, rotation standards, product presentation, guest engagement, and department readiness for promotions and seasonal events. It calls for passion, excellence, hospitality, and teamwork while maintaining operational integrity and delivering an exceptional guest experience. The position requires a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in retail, grocery, restaurant, or hospitality operations.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and work at a fast pace.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements, grasp, bend, and reach; lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds; and withstand exposure to extreme temperatures.
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods, including up to 4 hours without a break or as required by law.
• Ability to use knives, ladders, stepstools, box cutters, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
• Must wear an approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, as well as personal protective equipment.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Retail, culinary, and/or grocery experience.
• Experience with electronic shelf label systems, inventory management technology, or AI-enabled retail tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure deli products meet freshness and quality standards, including proper rotation and dating.
• Execute planograms and maintain accurate product placement and signage.
• Coordinate with department leadership on ordering and replenishment of deli items.
• Verify deliveries for accuracy and freshness, and follow proper receiving and storage procedures.
• Support compliance during key item transitions and promotional events.
• Follow company policies, food safety requirements, and sanitation procedures.
• Engage guests with a friendly, helpful approach on the sales floor.
