About The Position

The Deli Clerk prioritizes excellent customer service through friendly customer interactions, product knowledge, and assistance with food preparation. The role maintains a clean, organized, and visually appealing deli department and helps ensure a safe environment by following health department and company policies. This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position at Uwajimaya in Bellevue, Washington. The stated pay range is $22.66–$27.47 per hour, with starting pay of $22.66 per hour depending on experience.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Basic math proficiency and familiarity with a ten-key or calculator.
Comfort using computers.
Flexible schedule to accommodate varying shifts.
Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and proactively work independently.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Prior retail experience.
Knowledge of Asian products.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
Greet customers, answer questions, and offer recommendations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing deli department.
Follow health department and company policies to maintain a safe environment for dining and workplace activities.
Take and fulfill customer orders while following portion control guidelines.
Monitor product levels and communicate when products are low or need attention to cooks.
Wrap, label, price, log, and date products accurately, and remove expired items.
Prepare and package deli food condiments for cold and hot cases.
Operate the cash register according to cashier guidelines and procedures, and keep supplies stocked.
Continuously improve product knowledge to support customer service and satisfaction.
Perform other duties as assigned.
