About The Position

Deli Clerks prepare and display ready-to-eat products according to company and regulatory agency guidelines while providing exemplary customer service and satisfaction. The role includes preparing hot food and baked items, maintaining product displays and stock, packaging and labeling products for sale, and keeping work areas and equipment clean and sanitary. Employees follow health, safety, and security procedures and handle customer requests and special orders.

Work is performed in person in a store setting. The position requires frequent communication, computer use, continuous standing and walking, reaching, and lifting or carrying items of varying weights. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Requirements

• Food Handling Certification as required by local government.
• Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Food preparation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Rework the display case to assess daily production needs and rotate products.
• Store and rotate stock.
• Bring product cases from the cooler to prepare for display.
• Clean and sanitize the work area throughout the day.
• Follow health-code requirements, including sanitation standards, proper temperatures, product rotation, and expiration dates.
• Package, wrap, weigh, and label products for sale according to company and regulatory agency guidelines.
• Prepare hot food.
• Proof, roll, shape, add toppings or fillings to, and bake items such as chicken and hot dogs.
• Provide prompt and courteous customer service, including handling special orders and customer requests.
• Clean and sanitize machines, work surfaces, floors, pans, utensils, and counters.
• Stage ingredients in the preparation area and refill dispensing machines.
• Follow safety and security procedures.
