About The Position

Military Deli & Bakery Services is hiring a part-time Deli Bakery Associate at the Sheppard AFB commissary. The role serves military personnel and their families by providing enthusiastic customer service and supporting deli and bakery operations. This is not a government job, and everyone is welcome to apply.

The position follows the listed schedule: Sunday 10:00 AM–5:00 PM; Monday 11:00 AM–2:00 PM; Tuesday through Friday 9:30 AM–6:30 PM; and Saturday 9:00 AM–5:00 PM. The posting describes a fast-paced work environment and duties that may extend across deli and bakery tasks.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Willingness to cross-train in bakery and deli tasks as needed.
• Effective and friendly communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math and ability to follow written guidelines.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without accommodation.
• Ability to stand and walk short distances for an entire shift.
• Ability to tolerate working in freezers for up to 20 minutes at a time.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
• Some weekend shifts are required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer service, teamwork, and positive communication; assist other team members as needed.
• Slice deli meats and cheeses to customers’ requests.
• Prepare custom party trays and sandwiches.
• Stock and organize displays, including assisting with shipments as needed.
• Maintain proper department and equipment sanitation and follow proper food handling and preparation practices.
• Perform other deli and bakery duties as needed, which may include cake decorating, baking, or rotisserie chicken preparation.
