About The Position

Military Deli & Bakery Services (MDBS) is hiring a part-time Deli Bakery Associate at its Vance Air Force Base commissary in Oklahoma. The role serves military personnel and their families, with a focus on food, teamwork, and delivering a positive customer service experience. This is not a government job.

The associate supports deli and bakery operations by preparing customer orders, keeping displays stocked and organized, and maintaining proper sanitation and food-handling practices. Duties may also include baking, cake decorating, and rotisserie chicken preparation. Associates may be asked to cross-train and assist with other department tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Willingness to cross-train in bakery and deli tasks as needed.
• Effective and friendly communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math and ability to follow written guidelines.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without accommodation.
• Ability to stand and walk short distances for an entire shift.
• Ability to tolerate working in freezers for up to 20 minutes at a time.
• Ability to work as a team player.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
• Some weekend shifts are required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain enthusiastic customer service and communicate positively while working with the team.
• Assist other team members as needed.
• Slice deli meats and cheeses according to customer requests.
• Prepare custom party trays and sandwiches.
• Stock and organize displays, including assisting with shipments as needed.
• Maintain department and equipment sanitation and follow proper food-handling and preparation practices.
• Perform other deli and bakery tasks as needed, which may include cake decorating, baking, and rotisserie chicken preparation.
