About The Position

Military Deli & Bakery Services is hiring a part-time Deli Bakery Associate at the Peterson Air Force Base commissary in Colorado. The associate serves military personnel and their families by providing friendly customer service and supporting deli and bakery operations. This is not a government job, and everyone is welcome to apply. The position involves mid-to-closing shifts and weekend availability. Commissary hours are Sunday 8:00 AM–6:00 PM and Monday through Saturday 8:00 AM–7:00 PM. Duties may also include cake decorating, baking, rotisserie chicken preparation, and other deli or bakery tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Willingness to cross-train in bakery and deli tasks as needed.
• Effective and friendly communication skills.
• Basic math knowledge and ability to follow written guidelines.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without accommodation.
• Ability to stand and walk short distances for an entire shift.
• Ability to tolerate working in freezers for up to 20 minutes at a time.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
• Availability for mid-to-closing shifts and required weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide enthusiastic customer service and maintain positive communication while working as part of a team.
• Assist other team members as needed.
• Slice deli meats and cheeses according to customer requests.
• Prepare custom party trays and sandwiches.
• Stock and organize displays, including assisting with shipments as needed.
• Maintain department and equipment sanitation and follow proper food handling and preparation practices.
• Perform other deli and bakery tasks as needed, such as cake decorating, baking, and rotisserie chicken preparation.
