About The Position

Gourmet Gang, the deli division of Trolley Hospitality Companies, is seeking a dependable, team-oriented Deli Associate for its Suffolk team. The role may be assigned to salad and sandwich preparation, customer service and cashiering, answering phones and taking orders, or expediting orders. Associates help with opening and closing tasks and support other stations as needed. All team members are expected to keep their workspace clean and organized and provide excellent customer service. Available shifts fall between Monday and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.

Gourmet Gang is part of a Richmond-based hospitality group serving the greater Richmond and Hampton Roads regions. The company operates seven gourmet lunch bistros and emphasizes creative, handcrafted menus, quality ingredients, and a supportive workplace where team contributions are valued. Additional opportunities may be available to train and become certified as a Gang Server, Bartender, or Setup/Take Down Crew member and work catering events.

Requirements

• Customer service experience, preferably in a food service setting.
• Food preparation experience.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently.
• Effective verbal communication skills.
• Reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

• Experience operating a cash register is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare salad and sandwich menu items while maintaining food quality and freshness, depending on assigned station.
• Greet customers, take orders, operate the register, and process payments, depending on assigned station.
• Answer phone calls, take phone orders, and assist customers, depending on assigned station.
• Check orders for accuracy, package items, and help ensure timely service, depending on assigned station.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including washing dishes, mopping, taking out trash, restocking restroom supplies, and completing other assigned tasks.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Provide excellent customer service and support other stations as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
