About The Position

Gourmet Gang, the deli division of Trolley Hospitality Companies, is hiring a dependable, team-oriented Deli Associate for its Bonney Rd location in Virginia Beach. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with no weekends. Depending on the assigned station, the associate may prepare salads and sandwiches, serve customers and operate the register, answer calls and take phone orders, or check and package orders for accuracy and timely service. All team members help with opening and closing duties, maintain clean and organized workspaces, provide excellent customer service, and assist other stations as needed.

Gourmet Gang operates seven gourmet lunch bistros and emphasizes creative, handcrafted menus, quality ingredients, and a supportive workplace. Requirements

• Customer service experience, preferably in a food service setting.
• Food preparation experience.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently.
• Effective verbal communication skills.
• Reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

• Experience running a cash register.
• Opportunities are available to train and become certified as a Gang Server, Bartender, or Setup/Take Down Crew member and join the catering staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare menu items while maintaining food quality and freshness.
• Greet customers, take orders, operate the register, and process payments.
• Answer calls, take phone orders, and assist customers.
• Check orders for accuracy, package items, and ensure timely service.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including washing dishes, mopping, taking out trash, restocking restroom supplies, and completing other assigned tasks.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Support other stations as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Provide excellent customer service.
