About The Position

A leading international law firm is seeking a Debt Finance Associate Attorney to join its Chicago office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing lenders, borrowers, and private equity sponsors in sophisticated debt financing transactions.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of debt finance, banking, commercial finance, or secured lending experience gained at a large law firm
  • Experience representing lenders, borrowers, and/or private equity sponsors in debt financing transactions
  • Experience handling secured lending transactions, acquisition financings, syndicated credit facilities, and other complex financing matters
  • Experience drafting and negotiating credit agreements, security agreements, commitment letters, intercreditor agreements, and related financing documentation
  • Working knowledge of Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code and secured lending concepts
  • Experience preparing transaction documents, closing checklists, and issues lists in connection with financing transactions
  • Strong drafting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple sophisticated transactions simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail
  • Excellent academic credentials from a nationally recognized law school
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
  • Illinois bar admission required or ability to become admitted

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with acquisition financings, debt securities offerings, high-yield offerings, and convertible note transactions is preferred

Responsibilities
