About The Position

A leading international law firm is seeking a Debt Finance Associate Attorney to join its Chicago office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing lenders, borrowers, and private equity sponsors in sophisticated debt financing transactions.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of debt finance, banking, commercial finance, or secured lending experience
• Experience representing lenders, borrowers, and/or private equity sponsors in debt financing transactions
• Working knowledge of secured lending transactions and related financing structures
• Experience drafting, negotiating, and closing financing transactions and related documentation
• Experience preparing transaction documents, closing checklists, and issues lists in connection with financing transactions
• Working knowledge of Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code required
• Strong drafting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple sophisticated transactions simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail
• Excellent academic credentials from a nationally recognized law school
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
• Illinois bar admission required or ability to become admitted

Nice To Haves

• Experience with acquisition financings, commitment letters, debt securities offerings, high-yield offerings, and/or convertible note transactions is preferred
• Familiarity with general corporate law principles is a plus
• Experience gained at a large law firm preferred
