Deans will effectively manage people and demonstrate the ability to build culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
  • 7 plus years of experience
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to inform decisions and communicate findings effectively
  • Proven experience addressing student behavior and understanding its connection to academic success
  • Ability to engage with scholars using a deep understanding of academic standards and skill development

Responsibilities

  • Provide actionable feedback to teachers on instructional practices and classroom management moves to address and prevent academic gaps that may contribute to behavioral challenges.
  • Support classroom teachers in implementing Tier 1 behavior strategies to promote a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Analyze and pull academic data to identify trends and inform instructional decisions.
  • Collaborate with academic interventionists and restorative practitioners to align supports for student success.
  • Implement and lead Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and other proactive strategies to reinforce positive student behavior and reduce incidents of disruption or harm.
  • Support staff capacity in using restorative practices and serve as a lead mediator for student conflicts.
  • Design and facilitate restorative circles, conferences, and other interventions to repair harm and build community.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret school culture and behavior-related data to evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives.
  • Use data to identify trends, develop responsive strategies, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
  • Provide ongoing professional development to staff on culturally responsive teaching, classroom management, trauma-informed practices, and social-emotional learning.
  • Offer coaching and support for staff in addressing classroom culture challenges.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to inquiries from students, staff, and families.
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately, and collaborate with others to resolve issues that impact the school culture.
