About The Position

Unitek Learning is seeking a Campus Dean for their BSN Program in Fremont, CA. This role is responsible for the overall supervision, development, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing program's activities. This includes managing the program budget, faculty and staff, clinical site liaisons, curriculum, program compliance, student advocacy, and ensuring the program meets all necessary objectives and regulations. The Dean will also oversee admissions, student appeals, and graduation requirements, and serve as a liaison between the college and community stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Must hold a current RN license in the state where the campus is located.
  • A master's or higher degree from an accredited college or University that includes course work in nursing, education or administration.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in an administrative position.
  • A minimum of two years of teaching experience in pre- or post-licensure nursing programs.
  • At least two years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care and/or equivalent experience as determined by the Board.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Excellent skills in oral and written communications.

Responsibilities

  • Site supervision, development, planning, coordination, organization, implementation and evaluation of the nursing program activities.
  • Plan, develop, manage, update and evaluate all aspects of the program including RN program budget, faculty and staff, clinical site liaison, curriculum development and implementation, program compliance with Board rules and regulations, site visits, student advocate, program policies and procedures, faculty and student handbooks, and supplies and equipment.
  • Prepare data and written materials for state and Board requirements, including reports, proposals, self-studies, surveys, and site visits.
  • Ensure all student and faculty records are initiated and maintained.
  • Assist with identifying and obtaining outside resources for the nursing program.
  • Develop and implement program policies and procedures.
  • Organize and serve on program committees.
  • Oversee admission process and orientation.
  • Write articulation agreements with nearby colleges.
  • Serve as liaison between community and the college.
  • Develop and ensure that educational partnerships and contracts with clinical sites are initiated and maintained.
  • Perform and/or delegate a clinical site evaluation.
  • Meet with specific clinical faculty or agency educational representative to discuss and confirm clinical details.
  • Complete and forward BRN clinical approval forms.
  • Ensure evaluations by students, clinical sites representatives, and faculty are completed and provide summary report.
  • Maintain minutes of inter-agency meetings.
  • Participate in Nursing faculty recruitment, hiring and orientation.
  • Ensure nursing faculty meetings are conducted regularly and minutes are maintained.
  • Participate in conflict resolution for faculty and students.
  • Initiate and maintain community relationships; advocate for and market the programs.
  • Monitor quality of instruction and participate in faculty and program review, evaluation, and strategic planning.
  • Maintain membership and participate in activities of professional associations.
  • Interact with other college entities as a representative of nursing interests.
  • Provide advising support and degree planning assistance to potential students.
  • Ensure students are properly oriented to nursing skills lab and clinical facilities.
  • Manage student appeals and grievances per policy.
  • Participate in the planning and review process for the recruitment and admission of qualified nursing students.
  • Advise and provide academic support to nursing students.
  • Assure that all students have completed the necessary documentation and met the requirements for graduation and licensing exam.
  • Conduct Nursing Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Monitor student performance in program, NCLEX licensing and job placement rates.
