Automotive DT DRIVER
About The Position
Modern Toyota of Boone is hiring a dependable, safety-conscious, part-time, on-call Dealer Trade Driver. The role involves transporting vehicles between dealerships, delivering vehicles to customers, and handling other vehicle transportation needs as assigned. The schedule is based on dealership needs, with a maximum of 29 work hours per Monday-through-Sunday workweek. Driving is limited to 10 hours or less in any 24-hour period. Standard drivers earn $12.00 per hour and notary-certified drivers earn $15.00 per hour; both receive a $25 minimum trip payment. Standard trips exceeding two hours on the road are paid at the hourly rate, while notary-certified trips exceeding 1.75 hours on the road are paid at the hourly rate. Drivers are not eligible for company benefits. Drivers must follow delivery instructions and schedules, maintain accurate records of hours and driving time, and promptly submit driver logs, time records, and expense receipts. They are expected to represent Modern Automotive professionally and comply with company driving, safety, and reporting policies. Seat belts are required; smoking, texting, talking on a cell phone while driving, and speeding are prohibited. Accidents must be reported immediately to the police and dealership, and required driver fitness documentation must be completed annually.
Requirements

- Must wear a seat belt while driving for Modern Automotive.
- Must not smoke, text, talk on a cell phone while driving, or speed while driving for Modern Automotive.
- Must maintain accurate driving logs and comply with company safety and reporting policies.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent education or experience considered.
- Notary certification is a plus and qualifies eligible drivers for the applicable higher pay rate.
Responsibilities
- Safely deliver vehicles to customers, dealerships, and designated locations.
- Follow delivery schedules and instructions from the DT Driver Coordinator.
- Communicate professionally with customers and dealership personnel.
- Maintain accurate records of hours worked and driving time.
- Submit required driver logs, time records, and expense receipts promptly.
- Represent Modern Automotive professionally throughout every delivery.
- Follow company driving, safety, and reporting policies.
- Immediately report accidents to the police and dealership.
- Complete required driver fitness documentation annually.
