About The Position

Modern Toyota of Boone is hiring a dependable, safety-conscious, part-time, on-call Dealer Trade Driver. The role involves transporting vehicles between dealerships, delivering vehicles to customers, and handling other vehicle transportation needs as assigned. The position is hourly, with scheduling based on dealership needs and a maximum of 29 work hours per Monday-through-Sunday workweek. Standard drivers earn $12.00 per hour; notary-certified drivers earn $15.00 per hour. Both rates include a $25 minimum trip payment. Standard trips exceeding two hours on the road are paid at the hourly rate, while notary-certified trips exceeding 1.75 hours on the road are paid at the hourly rate. Drivers are not eligible for company benefits. The position is subject to the Modern Automotive Network On-Call Driver Policy and applicable company requirements.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious work habits.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently and provide professional customer service.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent education or experience considered.

Nice To Haves

• Notary certification; eligible notary-certified drivers qualify for the applicable higher pay rate.

Responsibilities

• Safely deliver vehicles to customers, dealerships, and designated locations.
• Follow delivery schedules and instructions from the DT Driver Coordinator.
• Communicate professionally with customers and dealership personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of hours worked and driving time.
• Submit required driver logs, time records, and expense receipts promptly.
• Represent Modern Automotive professionally throughout every delivery.
• Follow company driving, safety, and reporting policies.
• Comply with driver requirements, including driving no more than 10 hours in any 24-hour period, wearing a seat belt, observing restrictions on smoking, texting, cell phone use, and speeding while driving for Modern Automotive, and promptly reporting accidents to the police and dealership.
• Complete required driver fitness documentation annually.
