About The Position

The Dealer Trade Driver safely transports vehicles between dealership locations, ensuring timely deliveries and accurate completion of paperwork. The role coordinates with dealership personnel about pickups, deliveries, delays, and other transportation issues. When not engaged in transportation tasks, the driver may assist with other dealership duties, including organizing inventory and performing vehicle inspections.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience as a professional driver, preferably in an automotive dealership or transportation field.
• Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and road safety regulations.
• Ability to drive and handle vehicles of varying sizes, including larger trucks and trailers.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to read and interpret delivery documents accurately.
• Excellent time management and organization skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and adhere to schedules.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with dealership personnel and resolve transportation-related issues.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive and transport vehicles between dealership locations in a timely manner.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are in good working condition.
• Load and unload vehicles onto and off the transport trailer using safe practices.
• Follow transportation and delivery schedules provided by dealership management.
• Accurately complete and submit delivery receipts, vehicle transfer documentation, and other paperwork on time.
• Maintain a clean and organized transport vehicle and ensure it is properly fueled and maintained.
• Coordinate pickups and deliveries with dealership personnel and communicate delays or issues encountered during transportation.
• Follow traffic and safety regulations, including rules of the road and transportation laws specific to commercial vehicles.
• Handle unexpected situations or emergencies according to dealership protocols and report incidents as required.
• Assist with other dealership duties as needed, including organizing inventory and performing vehicle inspections.
