About The Position

The Dealer Network Specialist - South Region will manage all Dealer Development functions within KDPS, including adding/removing points, buyouts, relocations, line additions/drops, ownership changes, and terminations. This role involves close collaboration with District Managers to ensure alignment on network actions, establishing and closing open points, and ensuring timely completion of KDPS packages by gathering and verifying required documents. The specialist will fill open points with qualified candidates by prospecting, evaluating business plans, financial performance, and capital conditions, forecasting potential performance, and making recommendations to senior management. Additionally, the role requires coordination with KMC Legal to ensure compliance with franchise laws, establishing priority markets using Urban Science data, and utilizing mapping software (Maptitude) for market action plans and travel. The specialist will also monitor dealer compliance with Retail Improvement initiatives, maintain accurate documentation for decision-making, and provide quarterly network action updates to senior management.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years related experience and/or training in the Power Sports or related industry environment.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Good understanding of Industry Market Share calculations.
  • Familiarity with Urban Science data collection and Expected Sales within a specific market.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all Dealer Development functions in KDPS; Add Points, Buyouts, Relocations, Add Lines, Drop Lines, Ownership Changes and Terminations.
  • Work closely with District Managers to ensure alignment on proposed network actions.
  • Establish, maintain and close Open Points as needed.
  • Ensure all KDPS packages are completed in a timely manner by working closely with DMs & Dealers to gather the required documents and confirm completion and accuracy.
  • Fill Open Points with qualified candidates. Includes candidate prospecting, evaluating Business Plans, reviewing and evaluating financial performance and capital conditions, forecasting potential performance and making qualified recommendations to Sr. management by completing the pre-qualification package in KDPS.
  • Coordinate with KMC Legal to ensure that all proposed actions comply with current state franchise laws.
  • Establish priority markets utilizing Urban Science data to determine highest unit recovery opportunities.
  • Utilize mapping software (Maptitude) to develop action plans in specific markets and plan travel within these markets to identify and meet qualified candidates.
  • Monitor dealer compliance with Retail Improvement initiatives, including facility guidelines, exterior sign compliance and participation in interior showroom elements and displays.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation to support decision-making process related to the dealer selection process.
  • Provide quarterly network action updates to Sr. Management
