About The Position

Our Toronto office is seeking undergraduate or postgraduate students to join the team Full-Time in Fall 2027 as a part of our Deal Advisory - Infrastructure, Capital Projects, & Sustainability practice. Our Infrastructure, Capital Projects, & Sustainability Team KPMG’s Infrastructure, Capital Projects, and Sustainability (ICPS) practice is focused on being the trusted advisors of choice on major infrastructure programs within federal, provincial and municipal governments, and transport, education, power and utilities, digital, healthcare, energy and mining, sustainability, and Indigenous advisory. We are a team of 70 professionals within Toronto and a national team of over 250 including economists, engineers, project managers, finance professionals, accountants, and sustainability consultants. Within the ICPS practice, our sustainability professionals support investors, corporates and public sector clients to address climate, decarbonization, low-carbon energy, sustainability and broader ESG requirements. Examples of the services we provide include sustainability strategy and reporting, climate risk assessments, decarbonization planning, low-carbon energy development and procurement, ESG due diligence and value creation, and sustainable finance. While our practice serves clients across all sectors, our most frequent mandates involve industrials, natural resources, infrastructure, real estate, retail, cities, financial services, and private equity. As a Consultant, you will support the delivery of high-quality services to top-tier public and private sector clients including government agencies, municipalities, investors and asset managers, financial institutions, and private companies across sectors such as mining, telecommunications, infrastructure, utilities, and energy.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or postgraduate student entering the final year of your program and expected to graduate in Winter or Spring 2027.
  • Completing a degree in sustainability, business, engineering, environmental or climate science, public policy or other related programs.
  • Ability to combine both quantitative and qualitative analysis to understand and solve sustainability and climate-related business problems, including their potential commercial, operational, financial and strategic implications for the private and public sectors
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Demonstrated record of leadership roles in academic and/or extracurricular or community activities; leadership in sustainability-related activities a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver commitments on time
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • All considered applicants must have or will obtain legal authorization to work in Canada by the start date of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, and/or Python are considered an asset.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset
  • Familiarity with AI‑enabled tools or analytics platforms is considered an asset, along with comfort in leveraging AI to enhance efficiency, generate insights, or support problem‑solving, and a demonstrated interest in how these technologies can be applied in professional settings.
