About The Position

Responsible for directing the daily outbound operations of the shipping/loading department within a distribution center. This role involves overseeing all aspects of the shipping/loading department, ensuring compliance with company operations, policies, and procedures. The supervisor will collaborate with operations and DC managers on payroll, budgeting, and productivity, conduct team member evaluations, and provide leadership, training, and guidance to maintain high productivity and morale. They will also work with managers to establish annual goals, assist in recruiting, hiring, and training practices, and contribute to capital expenditure planning and approval processes. Maintaining safety standards and identifying unsafe practices are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on customer service
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and match numerical and alpha characters quickly and accurately
  • Basic computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • College degree or logistics certification
  • 2+ years previous supervisory experience
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Completion of O'Reilly supervisor training program
  • Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled evaluations on team members.
  • Provide leadership, training, and guidance to the department.
  • Ensure productivity and morale are maintained at a high level.
  • Work with managers to establish annual goals and plans.
  • Work closely with HR and operations managers to ensure effective recruiting, hiring, and training practices.
  • Assist managers with planning for annual capital expenditure listings for budgeting.
  • Work with managers for approval on any department expenditures.
  • Maintain safety standards and identify unsafe practices and situations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
