About The Position

The DC Intern partners with Management on special projects and helps manage and streamline day-to-day distribution center operations, including timely receipt, stocking, order filling, and shipment of merchandise. Duties may also include supervising employees who operate rolling stock or automated equipment. The intern reports weekly to members of Management on project status and overall performance.

• Ability to handle multiple activities simultaneously and ensure accurate, timely completion of tasks.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Responsibilities

• Conduct start-up meetings to communicate daily volume and weekly safety topics.
• Use Standard Operating Procedures to resolve and correct problems, and communicate issues to management for the assigned department.
• Use Productivity Improvement Plan processes to identify areas for improvement.
• Review quality measurements and report status to management for the assigned department.
• Maintain positive employee relations and maintain employee records daily.
• Support safety programs to reduce or eliminate employee injuries.
• Report weekly to members of Management on project status and overall performance.
• Help manage and streamline daily operations involving merchandise receipt, stocking, order filling, and shipment.
• May supervise employees who operate rolling stock equipment and/or automated equipment.
