About The Position

At Griswold Home Care for Northern Vermont, our clients depend on us for consistency and peace of mind. We are looking for experienced caregivers who want to build lasting relationships with clients and become trusted members of their care team. This position is a great fit for individuals who have 2+ years of experience caring for older adults in a home care or facility setting, take their scheduled shifts seriously, arrive on time and are prepared to work, communicate promptly when an issue arises, are comfortable working independently in a client's home, follow care plans and office instructions, notice changes in a client's condition, mood, or needs and communicate them appropriately, take initiative rather than waiting to be told what needs to be done, and treat clients, families, and coworkers with professionalism and respect. We don't expect perfection. We do expect honesty, accountability, and communication.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience caring for older adults
• High School Diploma or GED
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Valid driver's license
• Reliable personal vehicle
• Valid car insurance
• Ability to successfully complete required background and employment screenings
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently
• Three strong professional references

Nice To Haves

• Previous in-home caregiving experience
• Experience with personal care
• Experience working with clients with dementia or other age-related conditions
• Experience communicating with families and care teams

Responsibilities

• Companionship and meaningful engagement
