About The Position
Reporting to the Centre Director, you will be an integral member of the Kids & Company team, supporting the overall management of daily kitchen operations during our busy summer months. This is a temporary 2-month position for July and August, ideal for candidates seeking short-term summer employment.
Requirements
- Availability to work Monday to Friday, 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm, for the full months of July and August.
- 1–2 years of experience in a Kitchen Assistant or similar role.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Current Food Handler Certification, or willingness to obtain it before or during employment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Clean criminal record check.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 45 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a daycare or childcare environment is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily kitchen duties, including heating food, light preparation, cutting fruit, portioning meals, dishwashing, and delivering food to classrooms.
- Ensure proper food storage and disposal, maintain temperature logs, and follow all health and safety regulations.
- Wash and sanitize dishware collected from classrooms according to proper procedures.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness by following daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.
- Perform other duties as required to support the daycare centre during the summer period.
