About The Position

The Day-to-Day Substitute Teacher provides classroom instruction and supervision when the regularly assigned teacher is absent. The substitute maintains a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment, implements lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the classroom teacher, and follows school policies, procedures, and administrative directives. The role calls for professionalism, flexibility, reliability, effective classroom management, and a commitment to student learning and safety. Building hours are 6:50 am–2:50 pm.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required.
Ability to motivate students and cultivate a culture of achievement.
Belief that all students should be held to high academic standards.
Resilience and professionalism.
Openness to feedback and coaching.
Collaborative approach to problem solving.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with students is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent instruction and make every minute count in the classroom.
Utilize the classroom teacher’s lesson plans.
Set and reinforce clear expectations for student engagement.
Continuously improve based on feedback and coaching from school leaders.
Collaborate with other teachers to increase student engagement and achievement.
Reward positive student engagement and hold students accountable using school-wide systems.
Provide classroom supervision and maintain a safe, orderly, and productive learning environment.
Follow school policies, procedures, and administrative directives.
