About The Position

A Day Porter maintains common areas of office buildings, apartment houses, and other commercial or institutional buildings in a clean and orderly condition. The role includes routine cleaning and inspection of building interiors and exteriors, upkeep of restrooms and waste receptacles, and reporting maintenance or security concerns to the Management Office. The Day Porter may also assist the building Engineer as directed by Management. CCS Facility Services provides janitorial and facility engineering services to commercial businesses. Responsibilities

Spot-clean lobby glass doors and polish chrome on lobby doors.
Vacuum elevator cabs and wipe cab doors, walls, and tops twice a day.
Inspect the building exterior and pick up trash.
Clean ashtrays and sand urns on every floor.
Empty and clean exterior trash receptacles.
Check restrooms twice daily.
Vacuum the lobby once a day or as needed.
Sweep stairwells and landings as needed.
Remove debris from landscaped areas as needed.
Sweep building entrances.
Remove smudges and marks from walls, doors, and wall coverings.
Report lights that are out, including exit lights and directory boards, to the Management Office.
Report solicitors to the Management Office.
Where applicable, keep lobby floors and planters free of paper and debris, scheduling this work during high-traffic times each day.
Empty all trash receptacles.
Vacuum carpeted floors.
Dust-mop lobby floors twice daily.
Polish elevator cab railings and doors and main lobby call buttons.
Assist the building Engineer daily as directed by Management.
Follow safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials properly.
Maintain reliable attendance, punctuality, and dependability; follow instructions and complete tasks on time or notify the appropriate person of an alternate plan.
