About The Position

SSC Services for Education is hiring a Day Porter to help keep school buildings clean, safe, and orderly. The role performs cleaning and sanitation duties in assigned areas, using designated materials and equipment and following approved cleaning procedures and applicable guidelines. This position is at Lake Travis High School in Austin, Texas, with openings at other locations in the school district potentially available. Prior janitorial experience is preferred but not required; training is available. The stated schedule is Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., with further details provided during the interview.

Responsibilities

Collect and dispose of trash according to approved procedures and infection control plans.
Dust and damp-mop floors according to approved procedures.
Move equipment and furniture to clean properly and return furniture to its correct placement.
Clean assigned areas using designated materials and equipment, sanitize surfaces, and follow the eight-step cleaning procedure.
Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other items to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Identify areas that require cleaning and take initiative to complete the work.
Complete tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Perform duties in accordance with federal, state, and county guidelines.
Strip, scrub, buff, and refinish floors; shampoo carpets.
Contribute to the team and act professionally with customers, coworkers, and others.
Perform other duties as assigned.
