About The Position
The Arc Oneida-Lewis is seeking a Day Habilitation Director to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of Day Habilitation services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This role involves supervising staff and program participants, ensuring their health and safety, and working collaboratively with various stakeholders to support the individuals' needs and goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Services, Social Work, or a related field, or Registered Nurse, and/or commensurate experience in the human service field.
- Associate's degree with three years of experience in the human service field.
- High School Diploma with five years of experience in the human service field.
- Valid NYS Driver's License
Responsibilities
- Supervise staff and individuals supported by the program.
- Ensure the health and safety of all program participants.
- Collaborate with the Plan Writer to ensure current staff action plans align with Life Plans and promote valued outcomes for each individual.
- Work with Care Coordinators to identify prospective referrals and manage admission documentation.
- Communicate with the person supported's circle of support regarding ongoing communication and any concerns.
- Ensure individuals spend time in meaningful and functional activities.
- Assist and train staff in mastering skills for habilitation plan implementation and documentation.
- Maintain a table of organization and staffing plan with the Director of Day Services.
- Ensure new hires receive on-site orientation and follow onboarding protocols.
- Provide training for all staff, including the use of the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Ensure proper documentation of purchasing processes and inventory control.
- Address issues identified by quality assurance, corporate compliance, BPC, or other audits.
- Review Therap entries and follow up as needed.
- Ensure the physical plant is in good repair and routinely cleaned, initiating work orders as necessary.
- Dispense medication on an as-needed basis.
