About The Position

The Arc Oneida-Lewis, a pioneer in championing individuals with disabilities, invites you to step into the role of a Day Habilitation Director! In this role, one is responsible for the direction and day to day operation of Day Habilitation services for persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a field of Education, Human Services, Social Work, or a related field, or Registered Nurse, and or commensurate experience in the human service field.
  • Associate's degree with three years of experience in the human service field.
  • High School Diploma with five years of experience in the human service field.
  • Valid NYS Drivers' License

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the supervision of staff as well as the people supported by the program.
  • Ensure health and safety are met for all people enrolled in the program.
  • Work with the Plan Writer to ensure each person supported has a current staff action plan in place, it corresponds with the Life Plan and actively promote the valued outcomes of each person.
  • Work directly with the Care Coordinators to identify prospective referrals and ensure all necessary documentation is in place for all admissions.
  • In conjunction with the Care Coordinator and Plan Writer, work with persons circle of support for ongoing communication and for any other concerns or issues as they occur.
  • Ensure the person supported spend their time in activities that are meaningful to them and functional.
  • Assist and train staff in mastering skills necessary for proper implementation of habilitation plans and documentation as directed by the person receiving the support.
  • With the assistance of the Director of Day Services, maintain a current table of organization and staffing plan.
  • Ensure each new hire receives specific on-site orientation and follows the on-boarding protocols for the department.
  • Provide training for all staff as needed, including the use of the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Ensure adequate documentation of the program's purchasing processes and that the inventory control system is operating properly.
  • Is accountable for addressing any issues brought to attention by quality assurance audits, corporate compliance audits, BPC audits or any other audit findings.
  • Review Therap entries on a routine basis and follow up as necessary.
  • Responsible for ensuring the physical plant is in good repair and routinely cleaned.
  • Follow up with appropriate measures, i.e. work orders as necessary
  • Dispense medication on an as needed basis.
