About The Position

The Day Bagger provides friendly and courteous customer service by bagging purchases, placing filled bags in carts, and carrying customers’ purchases to their cars. The role also includes retrieving carts, maintaining cleanliness in the store and parking lot, stocking bags, emptying trash, returning merchandise to shelves, and verifying merchandise prices. Training is provided at the store level. Applicants must be available to work between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. throughout the week. Regular, reliable attendance is essential.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old to apply.
• Must be available to work between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. throughout the week.
• Must be able to push 3 to 5 carts at a time.
• Must be able to work outside in seasonal weather.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work on feet for an entire shift of 4 to 8 hours.
• Must be able to bend and stoop.

Nice To Haves

• Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months of employment with Schnucks preferred.
• Store Support Center Teammates: minimum of one year of employment with Schnucks preferred.
• Must be in good standing, not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline.
• If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers.
• Maintain regular, reliable attendance.
• Place customers’ purchases into bags.
• Place filled bags in carts.
• Carry customers’ purchases to their cars.
• Retrieve carts from the parking lot.
• Pick up paper and debris in the store, parking lot, and carts.
• Stock bags on check stands.
• Empty trash from check stands and the service center.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Return merchandise left at checkout to shelves.
• Read and understand shelf tags.
• Verify prices of merchandise.
• Perform other duties as assigned by store management.
