You will also perform cabling tasks as needed, running both copper and fiber connections throughout the Datacenter. Additionally, as necessary, you will escort vendors and customers for required work and site visits. Monitoring and ensuring adherence to appearance and safety standards is also part of the role. Participation in Agile project management and a DevSecOps culture is required as necessary. The ability to coordinate, communicate with engineers, and replace IT components in systems as needed is also important. Key tasks include keeping an inventory of all 2000+ devices in the data center, running cat5/cat6 and fiber cables, deploying servers to server racks, creating and working tickets using Remedy, developing power plans for new devices, sending out daily shift mail to coworkers to document and inform, monitoring alarms in WebControl and correcting or escalating them, and ensuring the destruction of storage when necessary during device removal.
