About The Position

The 2027 Summer Internship prepares students for entry into the business world by providing an understanding of the functions of Zebra Technologies and insights into a career with the company. Interns receive training, hands-on experience, social and professional development activities, and a professional mentor relationship.

Within Workcloud Professional Services, the intern will work in the context of implementing, deploying, maintaining, and continually improving Zebra Workcloud SaaS solutions for supply chain, inventory visibility, and workforce management in customer production environments. The team provides data engineering, data science, and ML/AI engineering services, and develops understanding of retail and CPG industries and the business-process workflows supported by its solutions.

Interns may contribute to customer engagement work involving data discovery and understanding, data transformations, feature engineering, model development, and model explainability. They may also help design, develop, deploy, or train users on Agentic AI utilities and toolsets. Continuous-improvement work can include root-cause diagnostics, model experimentation, internal and external data enrichment, and feature enrichment. The role requires hybrid work three days per week in either the Lincolnshire, Illinois or Holtsville, New York office.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline.
• Anticipated graduation date between 2027 and 2029.
• Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to cloud services platforms such as Azure, GCP, or AWS, including resource optimization.
• Exposure to Databricks technologies and concepts, including Spark, Delta Live Tables, Medallion data architecture, Unity Catalog, Delta Share, MLflow, and parallel or distributed computing.
• Exposure to TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, CatBoost, TiDE, DenseNet, TimesGPT, Chronos, NBEATSx, SHAP, or Ray distributed computing.
• Familiarity with time-series data and retail or CPG use cases such as demand forecasting, inventory allocation, assortment mix and merchandise planning, size and pack optimization, retail shrink, fraud or anomaly detection, workforce management, scheduling, and task optimization; preferred but not mandatory.
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication.
• Willingness to learn quickly, embrace new tools or methods, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and basic familiarity with technology solutions.
• Commitment to ethical behavior and confidentiality.
